Filtration is the most widely used method in the treatment of sludge produced by wastewater treatment. It can consist just in dreinage though sand beds or it can be mechanical under high pressure conditions. Filter presses operate applying very high pressures to the cake (from 5 to 15 bars and sometimes even more).
Chamber Plates for Filter Presses
The chamber plates filter are made in polypropylene, they are usually the most used, regarding their high advantages, when comparing those manufactured in other materials such as the iron, stainless steel or aluminum.
Membrane Plates for Filter Presses
The membrane plates filter are also usually made in Polypropylene, for the same reasons as the ones of the Chamber, with the singularity and by itself the main advantage that is having a detachable Elastomer membrane on the surface of filtration in each side. This membrane is made mainly by Elastomers Vulcanizated and Thermal Plastic which allows injecting Air or Water in the plaques to assure us a less percentage of humidity on the filtered pie and at the same time it reduces the Filtering cycle time.
